We like to start our day searching the web and reading articles about our beloved LA sports teams. It’s easy to get lost in the depth of the inter web, but luckily for you we have compiled a list of the most interesting and pertinent news stories for your morning reading pleasure. For this edition, let’s dive into the news surrounding the Los Angeles Clippers.

Fox Sports discusses the Clippers internal desire to win a Championship:

“Expectations have risen with that mantra.

“Whatever you do here is never going to be good enough,” Matt Barnes said. “It’s championship or bust. Until you get that championship, nobody is good enough. You definitely hear it.

“I use it as motivation. I use it as motivation to play harder. I’ve been around for 13 years. Why stop now?”

The expectation bar used to be woefully low for the Clippers, who play in a city that pays attention only to success. Barnes knows the landscape well since he played at UCLA and has had a stint with the Lakers and now two with the Clippers.

“It’s come a long way. When I first came here in 2003, we were one of the worst teams and really just the laughing stock. We’ve come a long way to say championship and the clippers in the same word, but we still have a long way to go.”

Bleacher Report discusses what Austin Rivers can do to be successful for the Clippers:

Austin Rivers was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers on January 16 after a disappointing two seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans, after being selected with the 10th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. Now, Rivers must find some new keys to success in order to fit in on a team his father, Doc, coaches.

Playing in the NBA is difficult enough. Being acquired by your father in exchange for players who have formed bonds with other players on the roster is even more challenging.

Rivers will have to overcome the struggles he had with the Pelicans and find a way to fit in with the Clippers. If not, the media and fans will begin to question if the move was made to improve the team, or rescue a son’s career.”
