People have been quick to criticize the Los Angeles Angels as of late, and it has been easy to do. The team out of Anaheim California haven’t played to their best ability…

ESPN.com have been one of the Angels biggest critics thus far, and last night they wrote another article to talk about the prospect of the rest of the season.

Fangraphs.com have projected the Angels to have a 23% chance of making the playoffs. This article takes into account what they need to move closer to that goal.

“Trout to be Trout

The player who was thought to be the best in baseball, Mike Trout, finally homered on Sunday, snapping a career-long 27-game homerless drought.

Trout had a run in which he looked rather ordinary as a hitter. He hit .186 (albeit with 10 walks) over a 14-game stretch from Aug. 15 to 29, but he’s since snapped out of it, going 10-for-25 with five extra-base hits, including Sunday’s homer, in his past seven games.

Trout and Josh Donaldson are neck-and-neck for the lead in terms of wins above replacement. Donaldson caught up with a huge August, which gives Donaldson a leg up in the MVP race given the Blue Jays’ recent success.”

What do you think the Angels need to do from this point forward? Check out the rest of ESPN’s article and let us know if you agree!
