The ESPY’s were last night and the show was full of the year’s best sports moments. This year’s ESPY’s provided another LA Galaxy player with another award. This time it went to our skipper, Robbie Keane.
Keane took home the ‘Best MLS Player ESPY’ award and he beat out the Seattle Sounder, and 2014 MVP, Obafemi Martins, the New England Revolution play man Lee Nguyen, and ex-BPL striker Bradley Wright-Phillips.
MLS.com writes the following on the Galaxy player:
Keane led the Galaxy to their record fifth MLS Cup championship last year, tallying 19 goals and 14 assists in the regular season and scoring the game-winner against the Revs at Cup.
Keane’s win marks the eighth time in the 10-year history of the award that a Galaxy player has taken home the honors. Landon Donovan or David Beckham took the ESPY home every year from 2006-2012, with former New York Red Bulls Thierry Henry and Tim Cahill winning the award in 2013 and 2014 before Keane’s win on Wednesday night.”
Congrats to Robbie Keane on this big win! Keep representing the Galaxy and being our captain!
