The MLS have renamed their MVP award in honor of Landon Donavon:
“The former USA player retired at the age of 32, last December. He was able to really make a difference on each team he played for, while also winning a few accolades here and there. One includes the All-Time leading scorer in the history of the league, which contributed to the new award title.
During the MLS SuperDraft today, after announcing the Orlando City to the league, Landon Donavon commented on his achievement:
“I am incredibly honored,” Donovan said. “I will try to live my life in a way that is worthy of having a MVP award named after you.″

Josh Johnson is set to finalize a deal with the San Diego Padres:
“Gerrard, 34, will end his 25-year-long association with his boyhood club this summer when he departs for a new challenge in Major League Soccer.
Principal owner John Henry and manager Brendan Rodgers have both said there will always be a role for the midfielder at the club whenever he decides to return from America, but Ayre has not ruled out the possibility of the Liverpool captain pulling on the red shirt again.
“I’ve said openly to Steven and his representatives, as have Brendan and the owners, that we see Steven as part of the family,” he told Liverpool radio station CityTalk.”
