Hassan Whiteside Too Much For Lakers, L 100-94

Hassan Whiteside was too much to handle tonight as the Miami Heat beat the Los Angeles Lakers 100-94. The Lakers were coming off a close loss to the Charlotte Hornets earlier in the week and tonight they fell just short as well.

Whiteside dominated tonight’s game. He scored 17 points and had 25 rebounds to go along with 4 blocks tonight. Dwyane Wade had 25 points, 6 assists and 2 steals.  Goran Dragic added 21 points and 6 assists as well. Luol Deng chipped in 15 points of his own.

For the Lakers they had a balanced attack. Jordan Hill had a double-double off the bench. He scored 13 points to go along with 10 rebounds. Jeremy Lin had a strong game. He had 12 points, 9 assists to go along with 4 steals. Ed Davis also had a double-double off the bench with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Although the Lakers were able to contain the Heat from the three-point line they were unable to play defense without fouling. The Lakers gave up 43 free throws tonight and the Heat connected on 33 of them.

The Lakers were also outrebounded heavily thanks to Hassan Whiteside. The Heat won the rebound battle 55-42 as the Lakers gave up 13 offensive rebounds.

All in all it was a strong effort by this Lakers team. They will now pack their bags and head to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies on Friday night.
