Grant Scores 2, Ducks Beat Canadiens 6-2

Derek Grant scored his first two goals of his career and the Anaheim Ducks beat the Montreal Canadiens 6-2 on Friday night. Anaheim snapped a two-game losing streak with the win.

The offense got started in the first period when Dennis Rasmussen scored a tip-in shot that was assisted by Jaycob Megna and Kevin Bieksa. Grant scored a wrist shot goal two minutes later that was assisted by Francois Beauchemin and Brandon Montour. Antonio Vermette capped off the period with a slap shot got that was assisted by Chris Wagner and the Ducks led 3-0 after the first period.

The second period was all Montreal. Paul Byron scored a wrist shot goal that was assisted by Karl Alzner and Jordie Benn. Brendan Gallagher scored a backhanded goal that was assisted by Victor Mete and Jeff Petry and the Ducks held a 3-2 lead heading into the 3rd period.

Montour got his name on the scoresheet when he scored a slap goal that was assisted by Bieksa and Jakob Silfverberg. Grant scored his second goal of the night that was assisted, Ondrej Kase and Nick Ritchie. Wagner capped the night of the Corey Perry and Vermette.

Anaheim will take in the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night.
