The San Francisco Giants put a screeching halt to the Padres winning streak Tuesday night beat the Friars in San Diego 9-0. The Padres were flying high on a 5 game winning before tonight.

Odrisamer Despaigne got the start for the Padres. He lasted 5 innings allowing 7 hits and 6 runs. He struck out 1 and walked 2. He picked his 7th loss of the season.

On the other hand Chris Heston got the start. He pitched 7.1 innings allowing just 1 hit while 6 striking out. He walked 2 and picked up the win.

The offense got started for the Giants in the second inning. Hunter Pence hit a solo shot to left field his 5th home run of the year. Gregor Blanco followed with ground ball double play that brought in Brandon Belt and the Giants lead 2-0 after the 2nd.

In the 4th inning Crawford hit a 3-run blast that brought in Matt Duffy and Belt. This pushed the Giant lead to 5-0.

Hector Sanchez followed with a grand slam in the 6th inning to give the Giants a 9-0 lead that was more than Padres could handle.

The 9th inning saw Austin Hedges hit a sacrifice fly to center field that brought in Clint Barmes. Brett Wallace hit a RBI double to left field that brought in Yangervis Solarte and Alexi Amarista and Padres fell 9-3.

The Padres and Giants will wrap up their series tomorrow afternoon at 12:40 p.m. PST
