Giants Blank Padres 8-0

SAN FRANCISCO, Ca- The San Diego Padres took on the San Francisco Giants in the Bay and for the second night in a row fell. Madison Bumgarner threw a one hitter and the Padres loss 8-0.

For the Padres Ian Kennedy got the start. He pitched just 4.2 innings allowing 7 hits and 7 runs. He also struck out 2 and walked 3 and picked up his 14th loss of the season.

On the other side Bumgarner was spectacular. He pitched a complete game shutout allowing just 1 hit and struck out 9. Bumgarner continued his dominance this season and picked up his 18th win of the year.

The game was quiet until the 4th inning. Marlon Byrd hit a 2-run double that brought in Buster Posey and Brandon Belt. Kelby Tomlinson followed with a RBI triple of his own to push another across. Ehire Adrianza hit a RBI single and the Giants led 4-0.

In the 5th inning Angel Pagan hit a solo home run. It was his 2nd of the season and gave the Giants a 5-0 lead. Belt reached on a fielder’s choice that brought in Alejandro De Aza to push the lead to 6-0.

Byrd followed with another RBI single and Belt hit a solo shot and the Giants beat the Padres 8-0.

The Padres and Giants will continue the their series tomorrow afternoon at 1:05 p.m. PST
