Garrett Richards Cleared To Start Throwing Program

According to Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim pitcher Garrett Richards has been cleared to start his throwing program.

Pedro Moura of the Times also reported the news.
The Angels announced that Garrett Richards’ latest doctor visit today demonstrated continued improvement. He will start a throwing program.

DiGiovanna of the Times reported further details.
Garrett Richards made 25 throws from 45 feet. #Angels RH felt like first day of spring training. “Crazy how far I’ve come in short time.”

Richards appeared in six games this season for the club and posted 2.34 ERA. If things go well Richards may not need Tommy John surgery.
