The Los Angeles Clippers are refusing to lay down. Coming off of, not only a STUNNING series against the San Antonio Spurs, they also showed Houston it will NOT all be over soon. The Clips currently lead the series 1-0 and are on the lookout to go two up, with or without Mr. CP3.
The Houston Rockets’s performance is being excused by most in the media because they looked “sluggish” but they should be giving the Clippers their respect because they were the better team!
Chris Paul is still a big question mark for the Clippers after suffering a hamstring injury that kept him out of play in Game 1. Doc Rivers admitted the possibility of him playing is 50/50 and his main concern is to make sure he is ready and healthy to play. Blake Griffin carried Paul’s weight instead and his teammates gave him the credit of the win. Matt Barnes said the following as reported by NBA.com:
“He’s incredible,” forward Matt Barnes said of Griffin, averaging 26.5 points, 13.3 boards and 9.0 assists in the last four games. “He gets in the middle of the field and kind of just picks people apart like Tom Brady.”
James Harden also said the following, as reported by NBA.com:
“I don’t think we took them lightly (without Paul),” MVP runner-up James Harden said. “We’ve got to do a better job of just playing harder. It felt like we were in mud for four quarters. We’ve got to be better in Game 2 and I know we will.”
