Galaxy Sign Defender Pele van Anholt

Galaxy

On Monday the Los Angeles Galaxy addressed a massive need that had been nagging at this team since the start of the season.

The Galaxy defense has been a line riddled with injuries so far this season but one of the biggest may have come before the season even began. The club found out long-time right back Robbie Rogers would not be able to play for the entire 2016-17 season due to nerve damage in the 29 year-old’s left ankle.

Up to this point the team has plugged in many young players that have for the most part done a decent job but certain players have been taken advantage of by savvier MLS attackers. To address this problem the Galaxy have turned to Pele van Anholt of Willem II in the Eredivisie.

The 26 year-old dutchman played in 24 games last season at Willem II and figures to plug right into the Galaxy lineup when he joins the team. van Anholt is expected to join the club this Thursday and has his medical with the team on Tuesday July 11th according to Adam Serrano of lagalaxy.com.
