Fulmer, Tigers Shutout Angels, 3-0
- Updated: June 2, 2016
Michael Fulmer came into this game with only six career games to his credit, last night he made a name for himself as the Detroit Tigers shut down the Los Angeles Angels bats, 3-0.
Angels fans were very nervous when the scoreboard was filled with zeros which included in the hit column as well. Fulmer carried a no-hitter for seven and two-thirds, his no-hit bid ended on a single by C.J. Cron. The Angels only other hit was a double by Gregorio Petit. The team struggled with runners in scoring position, going 0 for 3. Angels starter Matt Shoemaker (L,3-6), got pounded in this game, giving up ten hits and two of the three Tigers runs. The only positive is that Shoemaker managed to strikeout eight Tigers hitters, on 107 pitches thrown.
HALOS DUGOUT:
There wasn’t much to cheer about today, Baseball has many games in a season and this one is history. The team is moving forward to Pittsburgh. You just have to tip the cap to Michael Fulmer for his performance in this one.
