With the Dodgers dealing with injuries to pitcher Hyun-jin Ryu and Brandon League there was a void that needed to be filled in the depth position for pitchers.
Garcia who is 38 years-old last pitched in the majors in 2013. He spent last season with the EDA Rhinos of the Chinese Professional league.
Garcia is a two-time All-Star and won the World Series with the Chicago White Sox back in 2005. It will be interesting to see how much Garcia has left in the tank. There is some opportunity for Garcia to earn a spot in the bullpen but the likelihood of the that is very low.
