Fourth Quarter Dooms Lakers, Fall To Toronto 102-93

The Los Angeles Lakers continued their long trip as they ran out of gas in the fourth quarter and fell to the Toronto Raptors 102-93 on Monday night.
Jeff Duarte almost went to Kobe’s last game in Canada but that’s a another story. The Lakers were coming off a poor loss to the Detroit Pistons and looked to improve on that effort.
For Toronto they got a strong effort from Kyle Lowry. Lowry scored 27 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Terrence Ross chipped in 22 points and had 6 rebounds.
DeMar DeRozan added 16 points, and Bismack Biyombo had a double double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Off the bench Cory Joseph reached double figures with 14 points.
For Los Angeles, Kobe Bryant led the way with 21 points, 4 assists, and 8 rebounds. Lou Williams added 15 and Jordan Clarkson had 13 points.
Julius Randle had a double double off the bench with 15 points and 11 rebounds. The big difference in last night’s game was the Lakes inability to play defense without fouling. Los Angeles committed 23 fouls compared to Toronto’s 13.
These fouls lead to 32 free throw attempts for the Raptors. The Lakers also committed 15 turnovers. Los Angeles will continue the road trip in Minnesota on Wednesday night when the take on Andrew Wiggins and the Timberwolves.
