Former Ducks Defensemen Ryan Whitney Retires

According to Ryan Whitney‘s official Twitter the former Anaheim Ducks defensemen as retired. He released this statement yesterday afternoon.

Whitney was the 5th pick in the 2002 NHL Draft to the Pittsburgh Penguins. He spent time with the Penguins, Ducks, Oilers, and Panthers throughout his career.
During his NHL career he played in 481 games and recorded 259 points. Whitney did play on the 2010 USA Olympic team. That team won a Silver Medal at the Vancouver games.
Paul Bissonnette of the Los Angeles Kings tweeted his congratulations to Whitney on his retirement.

Ryan Miller of the Vancouver Canucks also reached out to Whitney.
