Izturis signed with the Cleveland Indians back in 1998. He spent one year with the Montreal Expos, eight years with the Halos, and two years with the Toronto Blue Jays before retiring.
In 2014 he appeared in just 11 games with the Blue Jays. He hit .286 that season and was in Spring Training for the Blues this year. After the couple of games he realized that his body could not handle the grind of another MLB season.
