First Quarter Dooms Lakers, Fall 114-96

The Los Angeles Lakers started the game down 16-0 and fell to the Minnesota Timberwolves 114-96 on Monday night. Los Angeles has now lost seven in a row.

Jordan Clarkson led the way for the Los Angeles with 20 points off the bench. He also had 4 assists and 2 rebounds, Julius Randle recorded a double-double. He had 15 points and 12 rebounds while Brandon Ingram reached double figures with 14 points and 5 assists. Josh Hart added 10 points, and Corey Brewer scored 12 points off the bench.

For the Timberwolves Jimmy Butler led the way with 28 points, 9 assists, and 3 rebounds. Andrew Wiggins added 21 points, 4 assists, and 9 rebounds, while Karl-Anthony Towns recorded a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds.

Taj Gibson reached double-figures with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Gorgui Dieng added 17 points off the bench.  The Lakers turned the ball over 24 times and shot just 20/29 from the free throw line.

Los Angeles also shot 8/26 from three-point land and just could not overcome the early deficit. The club will try and right the ship on Wednesday night at the Staples Center against Russell Westbrook, Paul George, and Carmelo Anthony.

There will be plenty of buzz in the building for that game as the club is the primary suitor for free agent to be Paul George.
