The Chargers safety has been named to the Pro Bowl once again as this is the third time in the last four seasons. He will be the only player to represent the Chargers at this years Pro Bowl.
Many people scrutinize the Pro Bowl, NBA & MLB All-Stars games due to the fact that is mainly a popularity contest. For Weddle it is hard not to put him on the team.
This season he leads the Chargers in tackles with 109, his fourth season with 100 tackles or more. According to ESPN.com he is also one of the few safetys in the league that have a radio in his headset in which he calls the defensive plays.
Let’s not forget that he makes the biggest plays in the biggest moments. In Saturday’s win over the 49ers in overtime, he forced a fumble that saved the Chargers season.
Oh yeah he dyed his beard for the holiday season. All and all Eric Weddle deserves this award and Charger Nation is forever proud! #BoltUp
