Embiid’s Career Night Too Much For Lakers, Fall 115-109

Joel Embiid scored a career-high 46 points and grabbed 15 rebounds as the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Los Angeles Lakers 115-109 Wednesday night on ESPN. With the loss, the Lakers now sit at 6-9 on the season.

Embiid was spectacular adding 7 assists go along with his 46 points and 15 rebounds. Ben Simmons was one rebound shy of a triple-double. He had 18 points, 10 assists, and 9 rebounds while Robert Covington reached double figures with 12 points. J.J. Redick added 11 points, 5 assists, and 8 rebounds.

For Los Angeles Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma, both reached career highs. Ingram had 26 points and 11 rebounds. Kuzma added 24 points and 7 rebounds while Jordan Clarkson had 20 points, 5 assists, and 6 rebounds off the bench.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 12 points and had 7 rebounds to reach double figures as well. Los Angeles shot just 39% from the field including 3/27 from behind the arch.

Rookie Lonzo Ball was benched once again in the fourth quarter in the club’s loss. He had just 2 points, 2 assists, and 5 rebounds. Los Angeles will host Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.
