Ducks Use Big Third Period To Beat Senators 4-1

Anaheim Ducks used a big third period to beat the Ottawa Senators 4-1 on Wednesday night. For Anaheim they were able to rebound after losing their last contest.
The first period was an even battle. Anaheim took 12 shots on goal compared to Ottawa’s 9 but neither team was able to find the back of the net. After the first the score was tied at 1-1.
In the second period Andrew Cogliano got the Ducks on the board. He scored a wrist shot goal that was assisted by Kevin Bieksa and Anaheim held a 1-0 lead.
Ottawa answered back with a goal from Curtis Lazar. Lazar scored a slap shot goal that was unassisted and after the second period the game was tied at 1-1.
The third period was all Anaheim. Shea Theodore scored his first goal of his NHL career, a wrist shot goal. His goal was assisted by Ryan Getzlaf and Sami Vatanen.
Carl Hagelin got in on the action with a wrist shot goal. His goal was assisted by Ryan Kesler and Jakob Silfverberg to push the lead to 3-1.
Silfverberg scored a goal of his own a minute later. He scored a backhanded goal that was assisted by Hampus Lindholm and Hagelin and the Ducks beat the Senators 4-1.
For Anaheim Frederik Andersen made 24 saves for a 96% save percentage. On the other side Craig Anderson made 34 saves for a 89.5% save percentage.
