Ducks Use Big First Period To Beat Devils 2-1

The Anaheim Ducks scored two goals in the first period last night to beat the New Jersey Devils 2-1. Anaheim was coming off back to back losses and were able to rebound with the victory.
Anaheim got on the board first with a tip-in shot. His goal was assisted by Kevin Bieksa and gave the Ducks a 1-0. For Stewart it was his sixth goal of the year.
Ryan Kesler added a snap shot goal at the end the period. His goal was assisted by Corey Perry and pushed the score 2-0. For Kesler it was his fourth goal of the year. The Ducks outshot the Devils 8-7 in the period.
In the second period New Jersery controlled the period. They took ten shots on goal to the Ducks five but no goals were scored.
In the third and final period the Devils got the board. Mike Cammalleri scored a slap shot goal. Lee Stempniak and Damon Severson assisted on the goal. The Devils were unable to score after that and the Ducks won 2-1.
Up next for Anaheim is the New York Islanders at the Barclays Center on Monday night.
