Ducks Struggle Against Penguins

After beating rival Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night the Anaheim Ducks fell to the Pittsburgh Penguins by a score of 5-1.

Pittsburgh got off to a solid start when Evgeni Malkin scored a slap shot goal. His goal was assisted by Chris Kunitz and Phil Kessel. Later in the period Matt Cullen scored a goal to extend the lead to 2-0. Tom Sesitito and Eric Fehr were credit with the assists.

Later in the peroid Cam Fowler got the Ducks on the board. Ryan Kesler and Sami Vatanen were credited with the assists that got Anaheim on the board.

Bryan Rust scored the lone goal in the second period. His backhanded shot got past John Gibson with the set up from Nick Bonino and Kris Letang.

Letang scored a goal in the third period that was assisted by Justin Schultz. Patric Hornqvist added another goal for the Penguins while Carl Hagelin and Sidney Crosby recorded the assists.

Matt Murray recorded 32 saves for a 97% save percentage. Gibson struggled making 29 saves but allowing 5 goals. Anaheim will look to try and bounce back  on Friday night when they take on the Arizona Coyotes at home.
