Ducks Shutout Oilers 1-0

Anaheim Ducks beat the Edmonton Oilers in the final game of the 2015 calendar year with a 1-0 shutout. That makes back to back contests in which the Ducks have held their opponents scoreless.

Ryan Getzlaf scored a backhanded goal in the first period that was assisted by Corey Perry that gave Anaheim the early lead. Anaheim outshot the Oilers 11-9 in the period and held a 1-0 advantage.

In the second period there were no goals scored. Anaheim once again controlled the puck outshooting the Oilers 14-5 but were unable to capitalize on their opportunities.

In the third and final period the Ducks were able to hold on for the victory. Edmonton was unable to create many chances Anaheim but the Oilers 1-0.

John Gibson recorded 21 saves for the shutout. Cam Talbot was solid in net recorded 34 saves allowing 1 goal for a .971 save percentage.

Anaheim will take on the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday afternoon at home in their next contest.
