Ducks Reach Extension With John Gibson

ANAHEIM, Ca- According to Helene Elliott of the Los Angeles Times, the Anaheim Ducks have reached a contract extension with goalie John Gibson.

Dan Rosen of NHL.com also reported the news.

Gibson is just 22 years old and has played in only 26 NHL games looks to be a big part of the Ducks future. He was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2011 NHL draft and is one of the top goalie prospects around the league.  Gibson has spent a majority of his career with the Norfolk Admirals. It doesn’t look as if he will be able to get much time in front of the net this season. The Ducks acquired Anton Khudobin this offseason and they also have Frederik Andersen.

It is important to note that both Khudobin and Anderson are in the final year of their respective deals. It seems to me that the deal is a good one for both parties. What do you think Ducks fans? Comment below!
