Ducks Rally Comes Up Short Fall To Predators 3-2

The Anaheim Ducks rally came up short as they fell to the Nashville Predators 3-2 on Tuesday night. Anaheim looked to improve after they beat the Carolina Hurricanes the night before.

Nashville got on the board first. Shea Weber scored his 6th goal of the year on the power play. His goal was assisted by Roman Josi and Mike Ribeiro.

The Ducks answered back quickly when Rickard Rakell scored his 3rd goal of the year. Cam Fowler and Sami Vatanen were credited with the assists. James Neal scored his 9th goal of the year with a wrist shot that was unassisted. The Ducks outshot the Predators 10-8 in that first period but trailed 2-1.

In the second period Miikka Salomaki scored his first goal of the year. His goal was a tip-in shot that was assisted by Mattias Ekholm and game Nashville a 3-1 lead. The Ducks outshot the Predators 19-9 in the period but still trailed 3-1 heading into the 3rd period.

Mike Santorelli scored a slap shot goal in the third period. It was his third goal of the year and was assisted by Kevin Bieksa and Chris Stewart.

The Ducks were unable to push another goal across the red line and fell 3-2. Anaheim will take on the Florida Panthers on Thursday night at 4:30 p.m. PST
