Ducks Push Winning Streak To 5 With Win Over Flames

The Anaheim Ducks entered last night on a four game winning streak and gave the fans wanted they wanted with a 5-2 win. Anaheim is now just two points behind the Los Angeles Kings in the Pacific standings.
Anaheim got on the board first with a goal with Patrick Maroon wrist shot goal. His goal was assisted by Hampus Lindholm and Rickard Rakell and gave the Ducks a 1-0 lead. That was the only goal of the first period.
In the second period Ryan Kesler scored a wrist shot goal. Andrew Cogliano and Jakob Silfverberg and pushed the lead to 2-0.
The Calgary Flames got on the board with a Mark Giordano with a slap shot goal. Johnny Gaudreau and Jiri Hudler were credited with the assists and the Flames cut the lead to 2-1 heading into the third period.
Early in the third period Kesler scored a wrist shot goal that was assisted by David Perron and Mike Santorelli. This pushed the lead to 3-1. Kesler followed with a wrist shot goal that went unassisted and pushed the lead to 4-1.
Kevin Bieksa put the icing on the cake for the Ducks with a slap shot goal. Lindholm and Kesler were credited with the assists.
Mikael Backlund scored a wrist shot goal in the final minute of the game. Deryk Engelland and Brandon Bollig were credited with the assists but they could not make the comeback and Anaheim won 5-2.
Jonas Hiller made 28 saves for a 84.8% save percentage. John Gibson made 22 saves for a 91.7 save percentage. Anaheim will take on the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday night at the Honda Center.
