Ducks Power Pass Florida Panthers 3-1

The Anaheim Ducks took their talents to South Florida and powered past the Panthers 3-1 on Thursday night. With the win the Ducks have just one game left on their home stand.

The first period provided no goals but many opportunities for the Ducks. They outshot the Panthers 16-7 in the period but were unable to find the back of the net.

In the second period Cam Fowler found the back of the net of Anaheim. For Fowler it was his third goal of the season and was assisted by Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf. The Ducks outshot their opponent 17-7 in the period and held 1-0 lead heading into the third period.

In the third period Andrew Cogliano scored a wrist shot goal. Cogilano’s short handed goal was his second of the year and put the Ducks up 2-0.

Florida got on the board when Aleksander Barkov scored a snap shot goal. It was Barkov’s fourth goal of the year that was assisted by Jaromir Jagr and the Ducks lead was trimmed to 2-1.

With less than two minutes left the Panthers pulled their goaltender and Jakob Silfverberg scored an empty net goal. His first goal of the season was assisted by Getzlaf and Sami Vatanen.

Anaheim held on a won 3-1. For the Anaheim Frederik Andersen made 24 saves for a 96% save percentage. On the other side Roberto Luongo had a strong save making 38 saves for a 95% save percentage.

Anaheim will conclude their road trip on Saturday night when they take on the Tampa Bay Lighting.
