Ducks Interested In Travis Green?

@Sportsnet

According to Rory Boylen of Sportsnet the Anaheim Ducks are interested in Vancouver Canucks AHL coach Travis Green to fill their head coaching vacancy.

Below is an excerpt from Boylen’s article, you can read the full piece here.

“According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, one coach the Ducks have shown interest in is Travis Green, currently with the AHL’s Utica Comets.”

“It’s believed he’s on Anaheim’s list,” Friedman said. “He played there, he played with a couple people who have good influence in their organization, Scott Niedermayer and Todd Marchant. Anaheim has three former NHL coaches in their organization, but I do think Green is going to get an interview here, too.”

John Shannon of Sportsnet believes that Green is ready for a head coaching job at the NHL level.

Green is a former second round pick of the New York Islanders back in the 1989 NHL draft. He enjoyed a 16 year NHL career where he played for the Islanders, Ducks, Phoenix Coyotes, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Boston Bruins.
