Ducks Fall To Wild In Anaheim 2-1

The Anaheim Ducks fell to the Minnesota Wild 2-1 at the Honda Center on Sunday night. The loss snapped a three game winning streak for Anaheim.
The offense got started in the first period when Ryan Kesler scored a tip-in goal. Jakob Silfverberg was credited with the assist, and the Ducks took an early 1-0 led. Minnesota did have more shots on goal than Anaheim 8-7.
In the second period Minnesota did their damage. Matt Dumba scored a slap shot goal that tied the score at 1-1. Zach Parise and Eric Staal were credited with the assists.
Less than two minutes later Jared Spurgeon scored a wrist shot goal that gave Minnesota the lead. His wrist shot goal was assisted by Jason Pominville and Jason Zucker and Minnesota took control of the game.
Anaheim had a few chances of their own in the third period putting 11 shots on goal but did not rep the benefits. John Gibson made 34 saves for a .944 save percentage.
Devan Dubnyk made 23 saves for a .958 save percentage. Anaheim will host the Dallas Stars on Tuesday night at the Pond.
