Ducks Blow Lead, Fall To Blackhawks In OT 3-2

The Anaheim Ducks blew a 2-0 lead and fell to the Chicago Blackhawks in overtime on Friday night. This loss was a crushing blow and the Ducks struggles continue as they try to close out games.
Anaheim got off to a fast start to the game. Andrew Cogliano scored a backhanded goal that put the Ducks on the board. For Cogliano it was his third of the year. His goal was assisted by Carl Hagelin and Cam Fowler.
In the first period the Blackhawks outshot the Ducks 9-8. In the second period Chris Stewart scored a wrist shot goal that put Anaheim up 2-0. For Stewart it was his fourth goal of the season. His goal was assisted by Hampus Lindholm and Ryan Kesler.
With the Hawks down 2– and less than 2 minutes remaining in the game all looked right in Anaheim. Marian Hossa scored a slap shot goal that was assisted by Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook. For Hossa it was his fourth goal of the year.
A minute later Keith scored a slapshot goal of his own to tie the game. His goal was assisted by Seabrook and Patrick Kane and the game was tied at 2-2 heading into the All-Star game.
In overtime things got worst for Anaheim. Artem Anisimov scored a wrist shot goal that was assisted by Seabrook yet again and the Ducks fell 3-2 in overtime.
The Ducks will take on the Vancouver Canucks on Monday night as they look to rebound from the loss.
