Drummond Pushes Pistons Past Lakers
- Updated: February 9, 2017
Andre Drummond‘s 24/17 double-double helped get the Pistons past the Lakers Wednesday night in Detroit.
Jon Leuer chipped in with 20 for the Pistons on 9-17 shooting. Tobias Harris added 19 off the bench, and was a +23 on the night. No player in Detroit’s starting five finished worse than +11.
Both Julius Randle and Louis Williams scored a team-high 17 for the Lakers. Brandon Ingram and Jordan Clarkson dropped 15 and 12, respectively. Black grabbed ten boards.
The game was tied after 12 minutes, but the Pistons pulled away over the final three frames. LA was outscored 96-77 over the last three quarters. As a whole, the team shot 46% from the field to the Pistons’ 52.6% mark. The Lakers turned it over 21 times, but DET didn’t capitalize particularly well with just six points off those giveaways.
Los Angeles was out-rebounded, 59-49, including 14-7 on the offensive glass. The Pistons dominated in the paint, outscoring the Lakers dramatically at 70-46.
121-102 was your final.
The team is in Milwaukee Friday night, having lost 11 of 14. Los Angeles has the second-most losses in basketball, behind only the lowly Brooklyn Nets who sit at 9-44. LA is currently 18-37 on the season. Very few games remain in which the Lakers are expected to be listed as favorites.
