TUESDAY
The Dodgers and Clayton Kershaw earned his fourth win in five starts Tuesday night. He scattered six hits and fanned seven over seven innings of one-run ball.
Yasiel Puig and Adrian Gonzalez supplied the offense with early RBIs.
Ty Blach got the start for SF and took the loss despite a solid evening. The San Francisco ‘pen was actually quite good (4 IP 3 H, 0 ER, 3 BB, 5 K), but the Giants failed to manufacture a run.
Baez bridged the gap to Jansen with two-thirds scoreless, and Kenley recorded the four-out save.
Final score: Dodgers 2, Giants 1
WEDNESDAY
Despite six scoreless from Alex Wood and a three-run lead in the seventh, the Dodgers dropped an extra-innings heartbreaker Wednesday night.
Up 3-0 on a solo shot from Corey Seager and RBIs from Utley and Toles, Roberts gave Sergio Romo the seventh. The wheels began to fall off shortly thereafter. Christian Arroyo put a one-out, two-run blast into orbit on a 2-0 slider that was left up in the zone.
Michael Morse evened the score an inning later on a pinch-hit solo blast in his first at-bat this season. Baez gave that one up.
With the bases juiced and no outs in the bottom of the tenth, Hunter Pence won a ten-pitch battle with Ross Stripling for a walk-off sacrifice fly.
Final score (10): Giants 4, Dodgers 3
