According to John Heyman of CBSSports.com the Los Angeles Dodgers were in the middle of the Josh Hamilton trade talks before he landed in Texas. The Dodgers who had an abundance of outfielders to start the season tried to get the troubled outfielder? Really?

Heyman explains in his article the Dodgers were simply going to try to use Hamilton as a way to get prospects from the Rangers.

“The cash-rich Dodgers’ main intention apparently was to pay some money while gathering prospects, not add Hamilton to their talented and crowded outfield mix; so even if a straight deal worked, presumably Hamilton would have gone to the Rangers eventually, anyway.”

The Dodgers were simply going to try and play middle man in the negotiations. To think that they would trade Matt Kemp in the offseason to acquire Josh Hamilton would be wild.

Andre Either and Joc Pederson have been playing just fine and Carl Crawford was healthy before the the deal occurred. As we know Hamilton ended back in Texas and is rehabbing down in Arizona before he makes his way back to the lineup.

We just hope Hamilton can get back on track with this mental state.
