Dodgers Unveil Jackie Robinson’s Statue

One of the greatest baseball players of all times had his statue unveiled outside of one of the greatest stadium’s in the country yesterday afternoon.
The Los Angeles Dodgers remembered the late Jackie Robinson by unveiling the bronze sculpture with a graphite base, of Robinson’s famous sliding into home plate.
This was a great way to celebrate Robinson’s breaking the color-barrier, to become the first African-American player in the baseball, on April 15, 1947.
The day was perfect for all that attended the special event. Amongst some of the guests in attendance was Magic Johnson, Vin Scully, Tommy Lasorda, Sandy Koufax, and other Dodger great players and other dignitaries.
Robinson’s widow Rachel and her two children were very humbled and thanked the Dodgers organization for the tribute to one most influential figures in sports.
70 years has passed since Jackie Robinson stepped foot onto the diamond and played the great American game. Today’s statue unveiling was one of the best ways to remember the man who paved the way for so many.
