Dodgers Sweep The Giants, With Another 2-1 Win.

Just check out this line score, 9 innings pitched, 1 run on 6 hits, 1 walk and career-high’s in strikeouts (15) and pitches (132). Clayton Kershaw,(W,12-6), was simply masterful in his performance last night, as the Dodgers “slam the door” and sweep the San Francisco Giants, in the final game of the series, 2-1.

After a brief meeting on the mound with Manager Don Mattingly, and after giving up two hits, Kershaw settled down, and went back to work, to strikeout Marlon Byrd swinging, to end the ballgame. Kershaw also set a season high for strikeouts with 251, breaking his personal best of 248, which he set back in 2011. Kershaw was on his game all night, only allowing 53 pitches through five innings, as he also had the advantage on fifteen batters on 0-2 counts and confusing thirty-six batters on swings and misses and picking off two base runners.

Chase Utley finally felt at home, he belted his first career homer as a Dodger, off of Mike Leake,(L,9-7), which proved to be the game winner, for Los Angeles.

San Francisco,(69-64), has now lost five straight games, as they will pack their bags and head for Colorado, trailing the Dodgers,(75-57), by 6.5 games, in the National League West. The Blue Crew will head south to take on the San Diego Padres, for a four game set. Matt Latos,(4-9, 4.76 ERA), will matchup with Colin Rea,(2-2, 5.95 ERA), in the first game of the series.
