The Los Angeles Dodgers were shutout by the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park on Tuesday night, 2-0. Carlos Frias finished six strong innings but Tim Hudson and the Giants bullpen held the Dodgers scoreless to start off a three-game series.

The Dodgers looked to win their first game at AT&T Park this season, after getting swept by their arch-rival Giants during the week of April 19.

Carlos Frias pitched his third game for the Dodgers, trying to cement his role as the fourth starter in an injury riddled Dodgers rotation.

Joc Pederson started the game with a double and moved to third on a wild pitch moments later, but his teammates failed to pick him up to give the Dodgers an early lead. The Giants had a chance with runners on 2nd and 3rd with two outs, but Brandon Belt grounded out to Howie Kendrick to finish the first inning.

The Giants struck first in the 3rd inning with three consecutive two-out singles, driven in by Buster Posey’s soft liner to right field. Frias followed by walking Brandon Belt to load the bases for Hunter Pence, but was struck out for a second time in the game.

Adrian Gonzalez looked to have hit the ball out in the 5th inning, but the 420 feet right-center field wall at AT&T Park was enough room for Hunter Pence to make a great catch. The Dodgers failed to get any more hits in the inning as they fell into the Giants’ infield shifts.

Carlos Frias’ night was done after six strong innings with the stat line: 7 H, 1 ER, 3 K, 2 BB.

Justin Turner picked up the bat to pinch-hit for Frias after a one-out single by Alex Guerrero – which led to a pitching change for the Giants, as Jean Machi came in for Tim Hudson. The veteran pitcher finished 6 1/3 innings, only giving up 5 hits and no runs.

The Dodgers caught a break after a tailor-made double play was blown by the Giants. Javier Lopez came in for Machi to finish the inning but walked both Joc Pederson and Jimmy Rollins to load the bases for the Dodgers. The Dodgers’ two-out rally was for naught as Howie Kendrick hit a comebacker to Sergio Romo for the final out of the top of the 7th inning.

The Giants added a run in the 8th inning, a wild pitch off of Yasmani Grandal that scored Brandon Belt from third base.

The Dodgers failed to get anything going offensively in the final two innings, as Santiago Casilla closed the game to defeat the Dodgers, 2-0.

Joc Pederson went 1-for-3 with a double and two walks. Alex Guerrero went 2-for-3, raising his batting average to .333 on the season.  For the Giants, both Joe Panik and Angel Pagan had two hits while Buster Posey went 1-for-3 with the only RBI in the game.

The Dodgers are back in AT&T Park tomorrow, with Brett Anderson on the mound against Tim Lincecum, 7:15 PM PST.
