Dodgers Snap Losing Streak, Beat D’Backs 7-4

The Los Angeles Dodgers snapped a three game losing streak on Tuesday night by beating the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-4.
Starting pitcher Kenta Maeda was forced to leave the game after getting hit by a line drive from Paul Goldschmidt. Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reported some of the news on the play.

Maeda pitched 5.1 innings allowing 6 hits and 3 runs, 2 of them earned while striking out 6 and walking 1. For his efforts he was awarded his 6th win of the year.
On the other side Archie Bradley got the start. He pitched 5.2 innings allowing 4 hits and 5 runs. He walked 3 an struck out 9 batters but also allowed 3 home runs. He picked up his 3rd loss of the season.
The offense got started in the bottom of the 1st inning for the D’Backs. Jake Lamb hit a RBI single that brought in Jean Segura and gave a Arizona a 1-0 lead.
In the 3rd inning Goldschmidt hit a RBI single to left center and brought in Segura. This pushed the lead to 2-0 from the D’Backs.
Joc Pederson got the Dodgers on the board in the 5th inning. He hit his 10th home run of the season, a solo shot. Chase Utley followed with a 2-run single that brought in Yasmani Grandal and Howie Kendrick and gave Los Angeles a 3-2 lead.
In the bottom half of the inning Segura reached on a infield single that brought in Micheal Bourn and tied the game at 3 apiece.
Justin Turner hit a solo shot in the top of the 6th inning. For Turner it was his 6th home run of the year. Pederson hit his second bomb of the night later in the inning to give the Dodgers a 5-3 advantage.
In the bottom half of the inning Chris Herrmann hit a RBI single to right field that brought in David Peralta and trimmed the lead to 5-4.
Utley hit a 2-run shot in the 7th inning to push the lead to 7-4. Kenley Jansen came on in the 9th inning and struck out the side to pick up his 18th save of the year.
Los Angeles and Arizona will continue their series this afternoon at 12:40 p.m. PST. Clayton Kershaw and Patrick Corbin are the projected starters.
