Alvarez is a 6-4 210 pound outfielder who is known as a contact hitter. Los Angeles has been very active in the international market looking to stockpile as many assets as possible.
With assets some of them will pan out and play at the big league level like Yasiel Puig. Others will be used as trade bait like Hector Olivera was used at last year’s trade deadline with the Atlanta Braves.
