Dodgers Shut Down Adrian Gonzalez

According to Alanna Rizzo of the Dodgers, the Los Angeles Dodgers have shut down first basemen Adrian Gonzalez for the rest of the season and playoffs.

David Vassegh of am570 LASports also reported the news.

Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reported further information on the news.

Gonzalez has spent the last six seasons with the Dodgers and has been an All-Star, Silver Slugger, and a Gold Glove award with the club.

At 35-years of age Gonzalez played in just 71 games this season dealing with injuries. Gonzalez hit 3 home runs and drove in 30 runs.
