Liberatore has been playing a little cat and mouse in the big leagues. He has spent time at both the major league and minor league level over the last week or so.
For McCarthy the Dodgers elected to put him on the disabled list after they learned of his torn UCL which will require surgery and have him out for the year.
The Los Angeles Dodgers confirmed the news via their Twitter account.
The Dodgers have placed RHP Brandon McCarthy on the 15-day DL (retroactive to 4/26) with a right UCL tear and recalled LHP Adam Liberatore.
