According to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register the Los Angeles Dodgers have promoted Cuban star Hector Olivera to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Olivera arrived in Double-A last Friday to many people’s excitement. The Los Angeles Dodgers reported their excitement via Twitter:

Olivera is expected to land in the senior circuit sooner rather than later. Dustin Nosler of Dodgersdigest reported some of Olivera’s successes.

On May 20, we wrote the following:

After months of wooing and negotiating they finally won the bidding war and reached an agreement. Then they had to wait another few months for him to get his visa and pass physicals. Now that he’s in the states and training Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register believes the Dodgers will put him in the fastpass line to The Show.

Olivera will join the single-A affiliate Rancho Cucamonga sometime next week and then be moved up to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

When asked about when he feels he’ll be ready Olivera stated 3-4 weeks. Here is an excerpt from Plunkett’s article.

His personal timetable has him in a major-league uniform before the All-Star break.

“Three or four weeks to prepare myself and I should be ready by then to play at the big-league level,” Olivera said through an interpreter Tuesday evening. “Mentally, I’m very prepared. I know what it takes to be a major-leaguer. I also know the conditions of how difficult it is to play here at the major-league level.”
