Dodgers Promote Eric Surkamp

According to Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles Dodgers have promoted left-handed pitcher Eric Surkamp from Triple-A.

Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reported that Surkamp may be starting in Carlos Frias spot in today’s game.

Surkamp was drafted in the 6th round of the 2008 MLB draft by the San Francisco Giants. He has spent time with the Giants and Chicago White Sox over the last few years.

This season the Dodgers acquired the left-hander back in May and was in their Triple-A system. This season in Triple-A he has a 4-2 record with a 4.50 ERA.
