Frias was beat out by Ross Stripling for the fifth and final starting spot on the major league roster. Last season Frias pitched in 17 games starting in 13 of them.
He posted a 5-5 record with a 4.06 ERA. At 24 years old Frias has plenty of time to continue to develop and make his way back to the major league roster.
