According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today the Los Angeles Dodgers have hired Alex Anthopoulos as the Vice President of Baseball Operations.

Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times also reported the news.

The Dodgers confirmed the news of the addition via Twitter.

Anthopoulos started as a intern with the Montreal Expos in 2000. He spent three years with the Expos before joining the Toronto Blue Jays. He moved up the ranks before becoming the general manager of the Blue Jays in 2009.

The Blue Jays saw some of their most successful runs in their history with him at the helm. Anthopoulos was offered a five year extension late last year but rejected the offer due to some undisclosed reasons.
