Dodgers Julio Urias Out For The Season
- Updated: June 24, 2017
The Los Angeles Dodgers announced on Friday that one of their top prospect Left-hander Julio Urias will miss the rest of the season.
The 20-year-old will have anterior capsule surgery on his left shoulder. Urias was nagged by injuries which delayed his start of the 2017 season.
Urias only appeared in five games this season with a 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA. Urias has struggled in his five starts. The Dodgers sent him back to their minor-league affiliate Triple-A Albuquerque for a rehab assignment, after he suffered from inflammation in his left shoulder.
This type of surgery usually has a timetable of 18 months, which means that Urias will miss a large most of 2018. He’s scheduled to recovery time 12-14 months as reported by several media outlets.
We wish Julio Urias a speedy recovery and hopefully, he can regain the strength and velocity to help the Dodgers in a late push for a possible World Series run in 2018.
