Dodgers In Pursuit Of Andrew Miller

The Los Angeles Dodgers are in serious pursuit of LHP Andrew Miller according to ESPN.com’s Buster Olney.

Andrew Miller is one of the best relief pitchers left on the market, which makes him a natural fit for the Dodgers. Miller’s agent, Mark Rodgers told ESPN.com this about Miller and his relief duties.

“I think Andrew’s evolution in the bullpen and his numbers this year fortify the belief in baseball that he’s a closer-in-waiting — and maybe the time for waiting is over,” Rodgers said at the MLB general managers meetings.

Miller was traded from the Red Sox to the Orioles at the trade deadline and was dominant. He went 2-0, posting at 1.35 ERA, including one save for the O’s.

The O’s have already suffered a blow today as they lost outfielder Nelson Cruz to the Seattle Mariners. Cruz signed a four-year $57 million dollar deal this morning.

If the Dodgers are able to sign Miller it will sure up a lot of bullpen questions. The bullpen has been a major concern for the Dodgers as they have made multiple trades this offseason to help improve in that area.

The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox have also expressed interest in Andrew Miller. It will be fight to see who will land the lefty. One thing is for sure is that Andrew Miller will not be in a Orioles uniform next season.
