Dodgers Fall To Braves 7-5

The Los Angeles Dodgers began their three game set with the Atlanta Braves with a loss on Monday night 7-5. After an excellent pitching performance over the weekend the Dodgers weren’t able to bring the same effort against the Braves.

For the Dodgers Brandon Beachy got the start. He pitched 4 innings allowing 5 hits and 4 runs. He struck out 3 and walked 3. He was awarded the no decision.

On the other hand Matt Wisler got the start. He pitched 6 innings allowing 8 hits. He allowed 4 runs and struck out 2 in his outing. He picked up his 4th win of the season.

The Braves got the offense starting in the bottom of the 1st inning. Nick Markakis hit his 1st home run of the season, a 2-run shot that brought in Cameron Maybin and gave the Braves a 2-0 lead.

In the 4th inning Jace Peterson hit a 2-run double to left, his 17th two bagger of the season. His hit brought in Eury Perez and Andrelton Simmons and gave Atlanta a 4-0 lead.

The Dodgers got on the board in the 5th inning. Howie Kendrick hit a RBI double that brought in Alex Guerrero and Joc Pederson to cut the lead in half. Adrian Gonzalez followed with a 2-run shot to tie the game at 4-4.

Juan Uribe hit a RBI single for the Braves in the 5th inning. Jace Peterson followed with a RBI single that brought in Simmons and Pedro Ciriaco and gave Atlanta a 7-4 lead.

In the 9th inning with the bases loaded Kendrick grounded into a double play that brought in Pederson and the Dodgers fell 7-5.

The Dodgers and Braves will continue their series tomorrow night at 4:10 p.m. PST.
