Dodgers at Brewers Series Preview
- Updated: May 4, 2015
The Dodgers are set to take on the Milwaukee Brewers from Miller Park in Milwaukee for a four-game series beginning tonight.
The Dodgers have won three series in a row, and just finished a six-game home stand. Brewers have just hired former MLB player Craig Counsell as their manager and his era will begin tonight.

Clayton Kershaw is set to take the mound tonight and will go up against Kyle Lohse. Kershaw is 1-2 to start the season with a 3.73 ERA, shocking, I know. However, Kershaw has made four starts in Milwaukee and has only given up three runs. He is 4-0 with a staggering ERA of just 0.87, the lowest at any given ballpark in which he’s had two starts or more. Kyle Lohse on the other hand ranks second-to-last in ERA at 7.28 and has allowed eight home runs in just five starts. This may be interesting as the Dodgers lead the majors in home runs right now with 38.

This is a homecoming for Zack Greinke as he spent two seasons with the Brewers. Greinke looks to make his first start of 2015 outside of the NL West. This is important because since 2013, Greinke is 21-1 with an ERA of 1.88 in 31 starts against the NL West. He’s 4-0 thus far, and looks to continue his dominance even outside of the NL West. Matt Garza is set to go up against Greinke, Garza has started the season 2-3 with an ERA of 4.60. However, he won his last start and only allowed two earned runs and five hits through 6.2 innings as the Brewers defeated the Reds.

Carlos Frias looks to make his third start of the season. Frias has yet to give a run this season, and has a streak of 10 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings going back into last season. Wily Peralta has pitched five starts and has a record of 0-4. Peralta has an ERA of 4.35 and has only allowed three combined runs in his last two starts.

The Dodgers have yet to announce who will start on thursday, but all signs point to Mike Bolsinger. Bolsinger pitched against SF on the road on April 23rd and allowed just one run through 5.2 innings. Scott Baker made two starts over the last two weeks but allowed seven runs and four home runs. Baker would’ve been my guess for starter but the Dodgers designated him for assignment on Sunday, May 3rd. Mike Fiers will take the mound for the Brewers. Since 2o11, Fiers has face the Dodgers twice. Fiers is 3-0 against the Dodgers with just a 1.08 ERA in two starts and one bullpen appearance.
