Dodgers Beat Cubs 2-0

The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the defending World Series Champion Chicago Cubs 2-0 on Wednesday night. Los Angeles has now won two out of their last three games.

For the Dodgers Brandon McCarthy got the start. He pitched 6 innings allowing 4 hits and 0 runs, while striking out 4. He was awarded his second win of the year.

On the other side John Lackey got the start. Lackey pushed 6 strong innings allowing 4 hits and 1 run while striking out 10 batters. He picked up his first loss of the year.

The offense got started in the first inning when Andrew Toles hit a solo shot to right field. This gave Los Angeles a 1-0 lead.

In the 9th inning Toles was involved in the other run of the game. He struck out but reached based on a pass ball and Chase Utley scored a Willson Contreras error.

Kenley Jansen came on in the 9th inning to shut things down. He allowed one hit and picked up his second save of the year.

Los Angeles will take on the Cubs today at 11:20 PST. Hyun-Jin Ryu will take on Brett Anderson at Wrigley field.
