Dodgers Acquire Matt Kemp From Braves

According to Ken Gurnick of the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired outfielder Matt Kemp from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for Adrian Gonzalez, Scott Kazmir, Brandon McCarthy, and Charlie Culberson.
The Los Angeles Dodgers today acquired outfielder Matt Kemp from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for first baseman Adrián González, pitchers Scott Kazmir and Brandon McCarthy, infielder Charlie Culberson and cash considerations.

The Dodgers are just as likely to flip Matt Kemp as they are to keep him. Payroll flexibility might make outfielders Lorenzo Cain or Andrew McCutchen in play

Andrew Friedman non-committal about Kemp’s future. He also said reducing luxury tax exposure has been offseason focal point.

Friedman said Gonzalez wants to play beyond 2018 and that was part of his consideration in waiving trade veto rights.
